8.1 Feminism

Feminism started out a a valiant cause for women's rights.  However it has changed into a man hating movement.  Here are some quotes from some famous feminists.

I feel that ‘man-hating’ is an honorable and viable political act, that the oppressed have a right to class-hatred against the class that is oppressing them.
Robin
Morgan, Ms. Magazine Editor

I want to see a man beaten to a bloody pulp with a high-heel shoved in his mouth, like an apple in the mouth of a pig.
Andrea Dworkin

Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women’s movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage.
Sheila Cronin, the leader of the feminist organization NOW

The family is a  “a patriarchal institution devoted to the oppression and enslavement of women and children.”
Kate Millett one of the cofounders of NOW

Some definitions to know before watching these videos are

1) misogyny:  hatred of women

2) misandry: hatred of men

Daphne Patai wrote a great book about what's wrong with American feminism called Heterophobia.  One of the consequences of such feminism is that innocent flirting by men is seen by women as sexual harassment.  Patai quotes an Australian author Garner who wrote:

Why should flirting be harmful? ....  Feminism is meant to free us not take the joy out of everything.

Patai wrote:

Like other women who have written critically of feminism, Garner found herself instantly vilified.

One story Daphne Patai wrote about was the story of Dr. Lamb.

Professor Lamb was an enthusiastic and kind teacher who taught a politics and religion class in which he encouraged students to present all points of view.  If the other point of view wasn't being presented he'd sometimes play the Devil's advocate and argue in favor of it.   He would argue for points of view that he didn't believe in to get students to learn how to make an argument for or against what they believe and to also get them to think about why they believed what they believed.  One of those points of view was about when women falsely accuse men of assaulting them.  One student, Tania Mortensen denied that women every lie about that.  She insisted that women must be believed.  Two other students, Michelle Gretzinger and Bonita Rai supported her view.  Mortensen, Gretzinger and Rai accused Lamb of sexual harassment.  They claimed that Lamb had created a "hostile environment" by challenging their position and characterizing them as "man haters". When their accusations didn't bring down Dr. Lamb, Gretzinger took Dr. Lamb to court and accused him of assaulting her.  During the case it became clear that she was made up the charges and she lost.  Despite that, the University of Hawaii settled with her by giving her $175,000.   The University may have settled in order to avoid larger law suit costs but in the long run this will only encourage more women to make more false allegations of assault.  Notice how Gertzinger who supported the notion that women don't make false allegations of assault, made a false accusation of assault.

False allegations of assault hurt innocent men but also hurt women.  Dr. Lamb who used to enthusiastically help both male and female students in his class said that:

"I used to love to teach. Not any more.  I used to love to interact with students and stimulate them to think critically.  Not any more.

"I still avoid interacting with women I don't know and trust.  I rarely feel good about going to school.  I still avoid meeting female students in my office, unless I know someone else will be there. ..

One result of feminist hostility toward men is that men are more reluctant to be with women or to hire women.  Men are even afraid to shake women's hands because it might be construed as harrassment.

There are many men who are very kind to women.   In 2012 a madman named James Holmes opened fire in a movie theater in Colorado.  Here is what happened next.

I think men have a natural tendency to want to protect women.  Feminist hatred of men can change that.  An example of that is the backlash that Rachel Zegler, the actress for the 2024 remake of Snow White experienced.

The story of Snow White is a story in which a prince's kiss of true love saves Snow White from a witches poison that had put her to sleep.  In the original 1937 movie there is a beautiful song called "Some Day My Prince Will Come".  Zegler  refused to sing the beloved song “Some Day My Prince Will Come”, stating it was “weird” that the movie focused on Snow White's “love story with a guy who literally stalks her”. Zegler said her character is “not going to be saved by the prince. She's not going to be dreaming about true love. She's dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be.  She's dreaming about becoming the leader that her late father told her she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave and true,” Zegler has also criticised David Hand's 1937 original animated film as “extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power.  There's a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So we didn't do that this time.”

A youtube creatorhttps://www.youtube.com/@LOLRex123 posted a video that made the point of how a man would react to Rachel's comments when it came to saving women.  I've attached his video below.

Here is another parody of Rachel Zegler that makes the point that feminist hatred of men is evil.  (In many Islamic countries where women really are persecuted they deserve all the religious leaders responsible deserve all the feminist hostility in the world but you rarely hear western feminists complain about the persecution of their sisters in Islamic countries.)

Classically Abby is a youtube channel where Abby presents her thoughts in videos.
Abby is a good feminist who doesn't hate men and believes that women should be supportive and helpful to the men in their lives.  Abby is a conservative woman.  Conservative means someone who has values things that people have valued for a long time and wants those things to stay the way they are like family for example.  The word passe that she uses  means "no longer fashionable and out of date".

Feminists tend to look down on housewives but is being a housewife something to be ashamed of?

But what about the wage gap?  Aren't men paid more than women?  Doesn't that prove that many men are sexist against women?
